B7 writing task
Task 1: find out the definition of narrative (for writing) and write it in your book.
Narrative:
The features of a narrative include
Characters
Plot (find the definition)
Problem and solution
Think of a movie you’ve watched recently... like Black Panther for example (if you haven’t seen this movie, choose another one). There is a problem (no king, Erik Kilmonger wants to take over) and a solution (wakanda take back their place, there is a big battle scene, T’challa proves his worthiness of being a leader/king)
Now imagine you are the new comic book or movie writer for Marvel.
You will create a new superhero for your story.
- Brainstorm who your superhero will be.
- Draw a full page picture of your superhero in your book. Include costume, colour, tools or accessories (like Thor’s hammer or Cap’s shield)
- Write a one-page story that describes your character. ONLY THE SUPERHERO. THIS IS NOT YOUR NARRATIVE YET.
- Include what they look like
- Powers or special skills (like Black Panther’s suit, or Batman’s and Iron Man’s gadgets, maybe they have knife hands like Wolverine or just really good at fighting like Black Widow)
- If they have a secret identity
- Where they live (new york city? A made up place like Wakanda? In the galaxy somewhere?)
- How they became a superhero (born like that like Xmen? Accidentally like Spiderman? Built something like Tony Stark/Ironman?)
Task 2
Brainstorm and plan the problem and solution
- What goes wrong? (Alien invasion? A villian wants to take over the city? A team of vigilantes causing havoc? A giant earthquake?)
- Define “vigilante” and “havoc”
- How will your hero solve the problem?
Task 3
Plan what will happen in your story
