B4's Class Trip to ASB Polyfest!!! By Caitlin

B4’s Class Trip to ASB Polyfest!!!

“Have a good day at Polyfest, be good!” My Mum called. “Ok bye Mum!” I responded. I hurried to class just before the bell rang.

A few minutes later all the children came racing into class. After everyone settled down Whaea Teagan split us into four groups. Then she gave us our name tags to put on our uniform.

Then Whaea Teagan gave a map to each group, of the whole Polyfest venue. Five minutes later the three parent helpers turned up, then we grabbed our bags and jumped on the bus with B9. We drove in the bus with B9 for 30 minutes (It felt like 30 minutes.)

When we arrived at Polyfest we hopped off the bus and went through security. Then Whaea Teagan told us to gather in our groups with our parent helpers. After we had our little meeting we were allowed to go.

My groups parent helpers name was Sandhya and the kids in our group were Maranique, Tynan, Devine, Namrata and Mustafaa.

We went wandering around looking at food stalls. Then I saw a smoothie stall and it was so hot that I had to buy a smoothie, so I did.  It was five dollars, and I only had five dollars- I was lucky I had the right amount. But  I came across another stall and it had the exact same thing but it was four dollars -  I was so upset!

Across from that stall there was a man selling orange balloons and jelly beans. “Would you like a balloon?” the man asked politely. “No thanks” I responded. As I turned around  I saw Whaea Caroline - she was our old school librarian. Our whole group ran up to her and we yelled  across the field “Whaea Caroline!” She didn’t recognise us until she saw our uniform. “Hi” she responded.

Then we ran back to our parent helper she said “Let’s go to the diversity stage!” So we marched to the diversity stage.

Suddenly Sandhya turned around and Namrata had vanished out of the blue. We were worried about Namrata, we thought we lost her for good. We were so worried that Sandyha rang Whaea Teagan.

We looked everywhere! Then something yellow caught my eye. I looked up and it was long lost Namrata. When we found Namrata we travelled to the Diversity stage where we watched Korean dances and heaps more.

Our group had half an hour left to play so I asked Sandhya if I could get a “Flava” tattoo. She said “ok be quick because we have to go soon” she said quietly. I got my tattoo then we jumped back on the bus and went back to school. “That was so fun!” I yelled as I hopped off the bus.
